ETIAS Spain Requirements for Peruvian Citizens
Apply ETIAS from PeruPeruvians traveling to Spain should be aware of the new legislation for the Schengen Area: the ETIAS visa waiver.
From 2026 and onwards, travelers from more than 50 countries will be required to apply for an authorization before they can legally enter any country in the Schengen zone.
This authorization is formally known as the European Travel Information and Authorisation System, abbreviated as ETIAS, and was created by the European Union. The ETIAS’ main goal is to improve the overall security of the European Union and to protect both locals and travelers.
Traveling to Spain from Peru with an ETIAS
The process of applying for the Spanish ETIAS for Peruvians is very simple and easy: all applicants need to do is to complete the online application form, get approved, and that is it! The best part about applying for the ETIAS is that the entire process takes less than 30 minutes and that most applicants will receive their authorization instantly. In addition, the Spanish ETIAS allows travelers to stay in Spain and the rest of the Schengen zone for up to 90 days at a time (within 180 days). Likewise, the ETIAS is valid for 3 years and can be used for medical, tourism, or business purposes. Travelers can enter Spain with their ETIAS via air, land, or water ports.
ETIAS Application for Peruvian Citizens
The process of applying for an ETIAS to visit Spain from Peru is easy and is done entirely online. There is no need to visit an embassy, have an in-person interview, or collect paperwork in order to submit an application and be considered for an ETIAS.
The first step to apply for a Spanish ETIAS is to fill out the online application form. The application contains questions regarding the traveler, such as his or her first and last name, date of birth, and nationality; their contact information; passport information, including the Peruvian passport number and issue date; and a brief summary of their travel plan.
There will also be a couple of questions regarding the traveler’s criminal record. These answers will be filtered through multiple European criminal databases, such as Interpol, to make sure that the traveler does not have any outstanding records or problems.
Once the application has been filled out, we recommend going through the answers and making sure that everything is correct. Once the traveler is ready, they will be prompted to pay the ETIAS processing fee and allowed to submit their application for consideration.
In most cases, travelers can expect to receive their ETIAS authorization approval instantly, although in some cases it may take up to 3 business days to process. This is due to a multitude of reasons, such as delays, public holidays, or the need to examine the applicant’s answers in more detail. In the event that the ETIAS was denied, applicants will have the opportunity to reapply.
